Solving The Problem You're Experiencing

Your skin keeps a calendar. It matches your cycle.

Topicals treat the surface. If your skin flares on a schedule, with your period, with bloating, after antibiotics or a stressful month, the trigger is upstream. If several of these sound familiar, this page is for you.

✓

Deep, tender spots that sit under the skin for weeks

✓

Skin and digestion flare at the same time: bloating week is breakout week

✓

Dull, puffy or reactive skin that no serum seems to fix

✓

Redness or sensitivity that comes and goes with your cycle

✓

Breakouts came back after you stopped birth control

✓

Skin got worse after a round of antibiotics

✓

You eat well and still break out

✓

You've cleaned up your skincare and the pattern hasn't changed

The Simple Explanation

Why your skin reflects your gut, in three steps.

1

Your gut sets the inflammatory tone

The gut lining and its bacteria regulate how much inflammation circulates in your body. When the microbiome is out of balance, that signal rises, and skin is one of the organs that responds.1,2

2

Your gut shapes your hormones

The estrobolome, the gut bacteria that metabolize estrogen, helps decide how much estrogen is cleared and how much is reabsorbed. When estrogen and androgens fall out of proportion, oil production and cell turnover change in the skin.3,4

3

Your skin shows the result

Researchers call this the gut–skin axis. Changes in the gut microbiome are linked to acne and other inflammatory skin conditions, and acne patients show measurable differences in gut bacteria compared with clear-skinned controls.1,5

Skincare acts on step three. A daily probiotic built for the gut–hormone axis works on steps one and two, which is where cyclical breakouts begin.

When Skin Flares Across The Month

Your cycle, your skin and what's driving each week.

Days 1–5

Your period

Calming

Low estrogen · low progesterone

Hormones are at their lowest point. Breakouts that formed in the luteal phase start to heal, and skin can feel dry rather than oily.

Days 6–14

Follicular

Clearest

Estrogen rising

Rising estrogen supports hydration and a calmer oil balance. For most women this is the clearest, brightest stretch of the month.

Days 15–24

Early luteal

Oil rises

Progesterone rising

Progesterone increases sebum production and can swell pores slightly, trapping oil. The groundwork for pre-period breakouts is laid here.

Days 25–28

Late luteal

Breakout week

Estrogen falls · androgens relatively higher

As estrogen drops, androgens have more relative influence on oil glands. Jaw and chin breakouts peak, alongside bloating from the same hormonal shift.

The Gut–Skin Axis

The connection between your gut and your skin is documented, not a wellness slogan.

The gut–skin axis describes the two-way communication between the gut microbiome and the skin, running through the immune system, inflammatory signaling and hormones. Acne is one of the conditions most consistently linked to it.1,2

54%

of acne patients showed altered gut microbiota in an early clinical investigation of the gut–skin link.5

2-way

the gut influences the skin through inflammation and hormones, and skin stress feeds back to the gut.1

Pathway 1 · Inflammation

An imbalanced gut raises the inflammatory signal

When the gut barrier and microbiome are disrupted, more inflammatory signaling reaches circulation. The skin, a highly immune-active organ, is one of the places that shows it.1,2

Pathway 2 · Hormones

An imbalanced estrobolome changes the hormone picture

Estrogen that is reabsorbed instead of eliminated shifts the estrogen-to-androgen balance. Androgens drive sebum, so the net effect reaches your oil glands.3,4

Both pathways start in the gut, and both respond to what you do daily. That is why a probiotic for skin should be built for the gut–hormone axis, not just digestion.

The Gut–Hormone–Skin Connection

Clear skin is a gut outcome. Your probiotic should be built like it.

Most probiotics were designed for digestion alone. Skin that stays clear across the month depends on where your gut and your hormones meet, so the probiotic that supports it has to be built for both.

Why Hormone Balance

Seven strains for the gut your skin reflects.

Hormone Balance ES1 is the daily probiotic built around the gut–hormone axis. Seven clinically studied strains support a balanced microbiome and the estrobolome that clears used estrogen. A plant-based omega supports a calm gut lining. One capsule a day, no hormones, no herbs, nothing topical to layer on.

12 BILLION CFU

The 7-strain probiotic complex

Seven clinically studied strains selected for women's gut–hormone health, not a generic digestive blend repackaged for women. Lactobacillus species in particular have been studied for their role in estrogen metabolism and in the gut–skin axis.3,6

✦

Not a skincare product. Hormone Balance works upstream, on the gut and hormone balance your skin reflects, rather than on the surface. Keep your routine; this supports what it can't reach.

Why Consistency Matters

Your gut responds in weeks. Your skin follows on its own clock.

A probiotic works by establishing itself in your gut, and that is dose- and time-dependent. Skin cells turn over roughly every four to six weeks, so skin changes trail gut changes. Here is the arc most women describe.

Weeks 1–2

Digestion responds first

The gut is the fastest-responding piece. Less bloating, more regular days and a calmer stomach after meals.

Weeks 3–6

One skin cycle in

A full turnover of skin cells and one full menstrual cycle. This is often when women first notice fewer or smaller pre-period breakouts.

Weeks 7–12

The compounding window

By month three you have two or three cycles to compare. The gut–hormone support has had time to build, and the pattern on your skin is usually clear.

✦

Consistency beats intensity. One capsule, every day. Missing a day will not undo your progress, but starting and stopping means the strains never get the chance to establish. Give it at least three cycles.

"As an Integrative Reproductive Endocrinologist, I see the profound impact hormones have on people's lives every day. I am so excited there is now a probiotic that focuses on the foundational role the gut microbiome has on hormone regulation."

Dr. Lauren Rubal

Questions women ask us about skin

Can a probiotic really help my skin?+

Research on the gut–skin axis links gut microbiome imbalance to acne and other inflammatory skin conditions, and small trials of oral probiotics have shown improvements in acne. Effects are strain-specific, and Hormone Balance has not been tested as a skin treatment. It supports the gut and hormone balance your skin reflects.

Why do I break out before my period?+

In the late luteal phase estrogen drops while androgens keep their influence on oil glands, so sebum rises and pores clog more easily. Progesterone earlier in the phase has already increased oil. Jaw and chin breakouts are the classic result.

What does my gut have to do with my skin?+

Two pathways. The gut sets the body's inflammatory tone, and skin responds to that signal. The gut also metabolizes estrogen through the estrobolome, so it shapes the hormone balance that drives oil production.

Is this a replacement for my skincare?+

No. Keep your routine. Hormone Balance works upstream, on the gut and hormones, which topicals cannot reach. Many women find the two work better together.

Will my skin get worse before it gets better?+

Some women notice mild digestive changes in the first week as the strains establish. We do not expect a skin purge; skin simply changes more slowly than the gut. Give it at least three months.

Does it contain hormones, retinoids or herbs?+

No. There are no hormones, hormone analogues, retinoids, soy isolates, herbs or stimulants. It is seven probiotic strains plus plant-based Ahiflower® Omega 3·6·9, one capsule a day.

My breakouts started after stopping birth control. Will this help?+

Coming off hormonal contraception often brings a rebound in androgen activity while the gut microbiome recalibrates. Supporting the estrobolome during this window is a logical step. If you use any medication, check with your prescriber.

How quickly will I notice a difference?+

Digestive changes often come first, within the first two weeks. Skin changes take longer because skin cells turn over every four to six weeks. Give it at least three months of daily use before you judge it.

Should I take it with food?+

Either is fine. Take one capsule daily with water, with or without food, at whatever time makes it easiest to remember. No refrigeration needed.

What if it doesn't work for me?+

Email hello@dailynouri.com within 30 days of delivery and we'll arrange a return and full refund. We'd rather you tell us it didn't work than quietly give up on it.
