So glad I found these!!!

"This is my first time ever taking any supplement/ vitamins, and I will be 48 soon.

I have always had problems with sleep, and now that I'm in perimenopause it's been so much worse. I started these a month ago and for the first time in my life I am sleeping great!

The whole night through! I also feel better through out the day. The only regret I have is not starting these sooner!!!"

Who This Page Is For

Your labs came back normal. Your symptoms didn't.

Many women arrive at the estrobolome after everything else has been ruled out. Hormone tests look fine, a digestive probiotic did nothing noticeable, and the week before your period still runs the show. If you recognize yourself below, the research on this page explains a part of the system that routine care rarely looks at.

✓

You have tried a standard digestive probiotic and felt no hormonal difference

✓

Your cycle symptoms got louder in your thirties or forties

✓

Constipation or sluggish digestion in the second half of your cycle

✓

You have taken antibiotics or hormonal birth control for years

✓

You eat well and still feel puffy and heavy before your period

✓

You want to understand the mechanism before you buy anything

✓

Skin that flares along the jaw before your period

✓

You want a supplement with no hormones, herbs or stimulants in it

The Mechanism

How estrogen leaves the body, and how it comes back.

1

The liver packages used estrogen

Once estrogen has done its job, the liver attaches a glucuronide tag to it. Tagged estrogen is inactive and water-soluble, ready to be excreted.1

2

It travels to the gut in bile

Tagged estrogen is secreted into bile and arrives in the intestine, where it should pass out of the body in stool. This is the exit route.1,3

3

Gut bacteria can remove the tag

Certain gut bacteria produce β-glucuronidase, an enzyme that strips the tag off. Untagged estrogen is active again and can be reabsorbed into circulation. This loop is called enterohepatic recirculation.2

Steps one and two are set by your liver and your biology. Step three is set by your gut bacteria. That is why the estrobolome is the part of estrogen metabolism you can support every day.

What The Research Shows

Four findings that make the formula compelling.

2011 · Cell Host & Microbe

The estrobolome is named

Foundational

Plottel & Blaser

Researchers at NYU coined the term estrobolome for the set of gut bacterial genes capable of metabolizing estrogens, and proposed it as a factor in how much estrogen circulates.1

2012 · J Transl Med

Gut bacteria track with estrogen

Human data

Flores et al.

In men and postmenopausal women, the richness and composition of fecal bacteria correlated with systemic estrogen levels, and fecal β-glucuronidase activity was linked to estrogen measures.4

2017 · Maturitas

A two-way axis

Review

Baker et al.

A review of the estrogen–gut microbiome axis describes a bidirectional relationship: estrogen shapes the microbiome, and the microbiome shapes circulating estrogen.3

2019 · J Biol Chem

The enzyme is identified

Mechanism

Ervin et al.

Researchers characterized specific gut microbial β-glucuronidases and showed they reactivate estrogens in the lab, confirming the enzyme at the center of the loop.2

The Estrobolome, Defined

A gut function with a name, a mechanism and a decade of research.

The estrobolome is the collection of gut bacterial genes that metabolize estrogen. In balance, it lets used estrogen leave the body. Out of balance, it can produce more β-glucuronidase and send more estrogen back into circulation.1,2

2011

the year the estrobolome was named in the scientific literature.1

2-way

estrogen shapes the gut microbiome, and the gut microbiome shapes how much estrogen you keep.3

Route 1 · Elimination

Tagged estrogen leaves in stool

When β-glucuronidase activity is lower, more conjugated estrogen stays tagged and passes out of the body. Fiber and regular bowel movements shorten the time estrogen sits in the gut available for reabsorption.3

Route 2 · Recirculation

Untagged estrogen returns to the blood

When β-glucuronidase activity is higher, more estrogen is freed and reabsorbed through the gut wall. The same estrogen gets a second lap, adding to the total your body is carrying.2,3

None of this requires a diagnosis to be relevant. Every woman has an estrobolome, and its balance shifts with diet, antibiotics, age and stress. Supporting it is a daily input into a system most women have never heard of.

From Research To Formula

Most probiotics were built for digestion. This one was built for the research above.

A generic digestive blend is not formulated with estrogen metabolism in mind. Hormone Balance ES1 starts from the estrobolome and works back to the strains.

Why Hormone Balance

Seven strains chosen for the gut–hormone axis. Nothing else in it.

Hormone Balance ES1 is the daily probiotic built around the estrobolome. Each strain is clinically studied and documented, with the strain code on the label so you can look it up. Alongside them, a plant-based omega supports a calm gut lining, which is part of a healthy estrogen exit route.

12 BILLION CFU

The 7-strain probiotic complex

Seven documented strains, chosen for women's gut–hormone health rather than repackaged from a generic digestive blend. Lactobacillus species in particular have been studied for their role in estrogen metabolism and the gut–hormone axis.3 Strain codes are listed so the research is traceable.

Ahiflower® Omega 3·6·9

A plant-based seed oil rich in SDA, GLA and ALA, included to support a healthy inflammatory response in the gut lining. A calm, intact gut lining is part of a healthy estrogen exit route.

No fish, no fillers, no aftertaste. Citrus-scented capsules, one a day, with or without food.

Research cited on this page describes mechanisms and individual strains, not this finished product. We say that plainly because the science is compelling on its own and does not need overstating.

Why Consistency Matters

Colonization is dose- and time-dependent. So is the result.

A probiotic works by establishing itself in your gut, and the research is consistent that this takes daily intake over weeks, not days. Estrogen balance runs on a second clock: your cycle. Here is the arc most women describe.

Weeks 1–2

Digestion responds first

The gut is the fastest-responding piece. Less bloating, more regular days and a calmer stomach after meals.

Weeks 3–6

Your next cycle

One full cycle in is often when women first notice the week before their period feels different.

Weeks 7–12

The compounding window

By month three you have two or three cycles to compare. The gut–hormone support has had time to build, and the pattern is usually clear.

✦

Consistency beats intensity. One capsule, every day. Missing a day will not undo your progress, but starting and stopping means the strains never get the chance to establish. Give it at least three cycles.

Proof

1,632 clinicians, including OB/GYNs, share it with patients.

"As an Integrative Reproductive Endocrinologist, I see the profound impact hormones have on people's lives every day. I am so excited there is now a probiotic that focuses on the foundational role the gut microbiome has on hormone regulation."

Dr. Lauren Rubal
Reproductive Endocrinologist

"So exciting to have an everyday probiotic that actually supports women's health. The gut has endocrine inputs and outputs that regulate so much, from menstrual cycles and weight to immune function and mood."

Questions women ask us about the estrobolome

What is the estrobolome?+

The collection of gut bacteria, and their genes, that can metabolize estrogen. The term was introduced by Plottel and Blaser in 2011. It describes a function of your gut microbiome rather than a single species.

What is β-glucuronidase?+

An enzyme made by some gut bacteria. It removes the glucuronide tag the liver puts on used estrogen, which makes the estrogen active again and available for reabsorption. More activity means more recirculation.

Is this research on Hormone Balance itself?+

No. The studies cited describe the mechanism and individual probiotic strains. Probiotic effects are strain-specific, and we have not run a clinical trial on the finished product. We cite the research so you can read it yourself.

Why these seven strains?+

They are clinically studied, documented strains with published strain codes, selected for women's gut–hormone health. Lactobacillus species have been studied in the context of estrogen metabolism and the gut–hormone axis.

Why is there an omega in a probiotic?+

Ahiflower® seed oil provides SDA, GLA and ALA, plant-based omegas included to support a healthy inflammatory response in the gut lining. The gut lining is where reabsorption happens, so it is part of the same system.

Does it contain hormones, DIM or herbs?+

No. There are no hormones, hormone analogues, soy isolates, herbs or stimulants. It is seven probiotic strains plus Ahiflower® Omega 3·6·9, one capsule a day.

Can I take it with birth control or HRT?+

Many women take it alongside other care, but if you use hormonal birth control, HRT or any medication, check with your prescriber before starting.

How quickly will I notice a difference?+

Digestive changes often come first, within the first two weeks. Cycle-related changes take longer because you need a full cycle or two to compare. Give it at least three months of daily use before you judge it.

What else supports the estrobolome?+

Fiber, because it helps used estrogen leave the body in stool. Vegetables, legumes, whole grains, flax and berries all feed the same exit route. Regular bowel movements, less alcohol and avoiding unnecessary antibiotics help too.

What if it doesn't work for me?+

Email hello@dailynouri.com within 30 days of delivery and we'll arrange a return and full refund. We'd rather you tell us it didn't work than quietly give up on it.
